Who is this for?

This qualification is both practice-based for specific level 4 job roles and also provides a stepping stone towards more senior practice and management positions. This course is for individuals working or wishing to work in the following fields:

  • Community Care /Support Officers
  • Social Care Assessor
  • Care Assessment Officer
  • Care Assessment Officer
  • Social Services Officer
  • Social Care Assistant
  • Social Work Assistant
  • Rehabilitation and Re-ablement Assistant
  • Social Care Work Assistant
  • Independence Support Assistant
  • Re-ablement Support Workers/Officer

What will I study?

This qualification is made up of advanced Health and Social Care units in Health and Safety, Communications Skills, person-centred assessment, etc..

To successfully achieve this qualification, learner must gain a minimum of 70 credits. 36 credits must be achieved from the Mandatory Group, a minimum of 6 credits from Optional Group A and a minimum of 28 credits from Optional Group B. At least 55 credits must be achieved at Level 4 or above. All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods. This could include a portfolio of evidence, practical demonstration or assignment, and coursework.

How long is the Course?

Duration of course is 15 months

What are the entry requirements?

Candidates must be over 18 years old. The key requirements for this qualification should be working at their respective field and must have a level 3 Diploma Health and Social Care qualification or equivalent in addition to:

  • Interview and assessment
  • Agreement Letter from employer
  • CV
  • Job description

What is the fee?

The programme fee is £3000.

Course Details

Duration:
A minimum of 1 - 2 days in class and placement will be necessary if not already working in the job role, with completion in 12 months.
Qualification:
OCR Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Young People's Workforce

  • Agreement of applicants employer
Progression:

Learners may progress into employment or to the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care if working in a management role. This qualification will be the accepted qualification for registration and regulation where appropriate and can demonstrate continuing professional development.
